Sylvan Learning of Jackson respects the privacy of the families we work with. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and what we do and do not do with it.

When you contact us, enquire about a programme, or enrol a student, we may collect:
We collect this because you give it to us. We do not buy contact information and we do not obtain it from data brokers.

If you give us your phone number and tick the consent box on one of our forms, we may send you text messages about appointments, enrolment and our programmes.
Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of enrolling a student or of receiving any service from us. You can decline and still work with us.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.
Some of the information we hold is about children, including a student's first name and grade level. We collect that information from a parent or guardian, not from the child.
We use it only to place a student in the right programme and to talk with their family about their progress. We do not sell it, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not share it outside Sylvan Learning of Jackson except with the service providers and the franchisor described below.
If you are a parent or guardian and you want to see, correct, or delete information we hold about your student, contact us and we will do it.
We do not sell your information. We do not rent it. We do not share it with anyone for their own marketing.
We do use service providers to run the practical side of our operation, for example the software that holds our contact records and sends our email and text messages. They may only handle information on our behalf and for our purposes.
We are an independently owned and operated Sylvan Learning franchise. Where our franchise agreement requires it, we may share information with Sylvan Learning, LLC, for example to deliver the assessment and programme tools we use with students. They may only use it for that purpose.
We may disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety of a child or another person.
Our website is built on a hosted website platform, which sets the cookies it needs for the site to work and to keep it running reliably.
We do not run advertising trackers on our website. We do not use it to build advertising audiences and we do not pass your browsing to advertising networks.
We take practical steps to keep your information safe:
No system can be guaranteed completely secure. If a breach ever affected your information, we would tell you and take the steps the law requires.
We keep records for as long as we are working with a family, and afterwards only for as long as we need them for our own records or the law requires. If you ask us to delete your information sooner, we will, unless we are required to keep it.
